At Tim HoWan, Smegamall,Mandaluyong Metro Manila |
day when in one afternoon, I
received a message from messenger
inviting me to a dinner date of a get together
with classmates during my senior high school.
I was reluctant at first, but when I learned
that the one who organized our dinner was
my long lost close friend,
I agreed to come.
When you realized that you will be seeing
the people during teen-age life, there
are mixed emotions and things that goes
across the mind.
I was wondering if how do they
look like by now, after four decades ?
How about their insights from
their adventures as they explored life ?
would they be happy to see me ?
How I wish I won't mess around if
I won't be able to call each one of
them by names except by the few ?
I was excited to meet them although
I was a bit quite unsure of the outcome of
meeting them again
except the one who called for the invitation.
Me and my son arrived to the venue a little early,
I was happier upon seeing my batch mate's gaze of warm welcome to us, as John and his family
approached us.
jokes, laughter, fun and endless
talks of our past during high school days.
Some were surprised to recall that
we've even been classmates when we
were in the second grade!
In our lifetime,
there are people from our younger years where we stayed in their hearts in time and space
regardless the fortune they gained and the
long decades that has passed.
I never thought that John, would hold the
cross over for his batch mates to reach and get together again !
My pet serves as a crossover for my family
and friends to have a reason to be happy
all the time !
